Josh B asked:

My wife and I want to go away for 7 days/nights in February. We live in California, so we’re not trying to escape the cold. We’re not huge beach lovers, more into eco tourism, animal watching, relaxing. We love to eat. Right now we’re thinking of Hawaii, Singapore, Costa Rica.

Where’s nice in mid February? We like to be comfortable, but no need for 5 star hotels. We tend to use a hotel for the bed and shower. We get seasick, so no cruises please.

thanks!

Margarita!

It’s a Carribean island, little heard of, off the coast of venezuala.

And it’s cheap! like four star all inclusive for two weeks for less than $1000! And that’s flying from the UK.

Just choose a GOOD hotel, away from Playa del Agua, as that’s now a bit run down, and porlamar, the capital isn’t great. Dunes hotel is very relaxing and great value for money, but very laid back, ideal for chilling out.

I live in Oregon and drove to Rosarito Beach Mexico in March and loved it.

Barbados — beautiful scenerios, you can even take a tour around the islands, in the east coast, there are mountains, hills, and in Bathsheba (sp?), there is a big rock or two in the water, very beautiful. In St. Michael has a capital called Bridgetown, it’s quite beautiful there — great for shopping, and has interesting stuff there, also. In Oistins, it’s ‘a fish market’. There’s also Cave Shepherd for shopping (all you have to do is bring your passport, and plane tickets). There’s Harrison Cave (sp?), also a zoo/an autorium (sp?). The bus/route taxi costs $1.50 each way. The cheapest to ever stay at so far from my experience is Pegwell Inn Guest House, in Welches, by Oistins. That guest house even has a little bar — And across the street from the guesthouse has a plaza called Southern, which has supermarket, barber shop (including manicure/pedicure, hairdressing — cheap prices), video store, bank, gas station, travel agency (with Internet access but costs like 15.00 for half hour or an hour, not sure), shoes store, stuff like that. You can even take walking distance to post office, there’s also pharmacy down the road in Oistins. Just to let you know, there are stationary stores (I think 2), which has sunscreens, souvnirs, stamps, postcards.. For your information, stamps and postcards are real cheap. :) They offer slowest, and fastest at 2 different prices. Hope this helps. The weather is warm.. Excellent. :) If you want to know more information, feel free to contact me: . I think if you;re staying for one week, that guesthouse can accept 200 BDS (around there), all you have to do is let me know, and I can call her for you (that is, if interested).
